MATERIAL DETAILS

PAPER

Paper is a very versatile material and can be used in many types of packaging. Paper packaging comes from renewable resources that respect and protect the environment. Packaging made from paper has good technical properties such as being both leakproof and providing durable heat retention. On the other hand, like most materials, paper has its limits and isn't ideal for heavy volumes.

Paper food packaging is a type of packaging material made from paper that is used to store and transport food items. It is commonly used in the food industry as it provides a safe and hygienic way of upholding and transporting food products. Paper food packaging comes in various forms, including bags, boxes, trays, and cartons, and can be designed for specific types of food products such as sandwiches, fries, burgers, and more.

One of the advantages of paper food packaging is that it is eco-friendly and biodegradable, making it a sustainable substitute for plastic packaging. Additionally, it is easy to customise and print with branding and nutritional information, making it a popular option for food businesses.

However, there are some imperfections with paper food packaging. It is not as durable as plastic packaging and may not be appropriate for certain foods requiring greater protection, such as liquids or greasy foods. It can also be more expensive than plastic packaging in some cases.

DISPOSAL

PAPER

Paper is commercially compostable, biodegradable and recyclable.

Used unlined paper food packaging should be recycled and disposed of in a specific paper bin providing as much of the food has been removed from the paper as possible before disposing of. If this isn't done the machines used to recycle paper can become contaminated.

Failing this, paper can be disposed of in a compostable bin which will break down within 2-6 weeks when sent to an industrial composting facility.
